
CERDHO is a research center specializing in human rights and international humanitarian law within the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Bukavu. CERDHO has been operating since 2009 following Decision No. UCB/CA/MR/261/10 establishing a regional center for human rights and international humanitarian law. Its creation is justified in light of the numerous human rights violations experienced in the Great Lakes region and Kivu in particular. These violations were listed in the United Nations Mapping Report.
