The Department of Public Law is proud to announce that Victor Van Steendam has been awarded a PhD Fellowship for Fundamental Research by the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO).
With this funding, Victor will pursue his doctoral research over the next four years under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Stefaan Smis. His research project, entitled “The Future of the Crime of Aggression: The Legitimacy of Regional Approaches to its Enforcement”, examines the legal possibilities and legitimacy of regional initiatives to prosecute the crime of aggression, in light of the International Criminal Court’s limited jurisdiction over this crime.
The Department of Public Law warmly congratulates Victor on this achievement and wishes him every success in his doctoral research!
