The Department of Public Law is proud to announce that Brecht Plessers has been awarded a PhD Fellowship for Fundamental Research by the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO).
With this funding, Brecht will pursue his doctoral research over the next four years under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Merijn Chamon. His research project, entitled “Specters of competence creep: the Charter of Fundamental Rights and the constitutional balance in the EU”, examines how and to what extent the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights affects the constitutional balance between the EU and its Member States, with "competence creep" as a conceptual lens.
The Department of Public Law warmly congratulates Brecht on this achievement and wishes him every success in his doctoral research!
